A businessman from Hatay who achieved success in the business world in a
metropolitan city like Istanbul, Ibrahim Edhem Sunar brought the name of Hatay into
prominence with his financial and moral contributions to Hatayspor.

Edhem Sunar expresses that Hatay has a special place in his life, and further state
that "I spent my childhood in Hatay. My friends are almost all from Hatay". Sunar
goes on to say that when it comes to Hatayit has a special value which he
emphasizes at every opportunity. Sunar says, "When I am here,
I am at peace. The world is watching Hatay closely. It is no coincidence that we
can achieve success in every fieldwhen we work together for our country
and further improve ourselves in tourism, gastronomy, EXPO 2021 and sports in
order to create a world renowned brand in Hatay.”
Emphasizing that Hatay is one of the
most important cities im Turkey, Sunar said, "There is potential to reach a
significant amount ofrevenue especially in the field of tourism. Now all the
countries around the world are working with all theirpower to make a name for
their country over sports. Football is very important for the promotion of Anatolia.
There are many examples of this. Kayseri, Bursa, Sivas and Malatya are the best
examples of this.”

He further commented, "As
Hatayspor, we worked with all our strength to be promoted to the Super League
in 2018-2019. Hatayspor hanged tough and had an incredible performance. The whole
city came together in our last game. Our players played great until the penalties. We wish
that we had won the game and promoted to the super league, but it didn't happen. Our
players did the best they could. I want to thank them once again. Football is
open to all kinds of surprises, but we will do our best to show the same
performance next season and try to get Hatayspor to the Super League."

Sunar underlines that there are more than 500 licensed athletes with in the body of Hatayspor, as well as U.S.-born players in the basketball team.
